Morgan is a young painter born in Maoming, Hua Zhou in Guangdong Province. He came to study fashion design in Guangzhou at the South China Agriculture University, with the support of his parents, a little bit more than 2 years ago. While interested by both fashion and fine art painting, Morgan didn't know until recently that he had a gift and the ability to paint.

As he studied fashion design for a long time he didn’t paint, believing that he had no style and that to become a good painter was too hard for him. But when his sister bought an apartment last year, knowing Morgan as the only "artist" in the family, she asked him to help her to redecorate the house. Morgan first realized two or three paintings then started to rediscover himself and found his artwork much more interesting than he had thought before. While his sister didn't really like the style and gave almost everything he produced to few friends, Morgan kept painting and had the privilege to exhibit his art at the First GZ Contemporain Art Exhibition last October where more than ten young Chinese artists participated.

Morgan is a spontaneous artist. When I asked him which painter he likes the most, his answer is: “I have no idea". He likes to paint Fish & Birds, symbol of freedom, and feels that his campus should reflect this aspect of natural art with less constraints and prejudices. He adds a lot of details after, painting with no special plan, he just lets go. (on this detail, the leg then the character licking the leg have been added later)

Morgan will graduate in two years and he still doesn't know if he will continue in the fashion design sector. He likes to draw his life like his work and if he has the choice later, he will probably live on the seaside, near the fish and the birds. |
